Request Updates in To-Do Lists broken?

(8 posts)
  1. In the To-Do Lists section, if I hit the entry and then the link that says "Request Update" I can type something in a box that gets sent out to the team members, but this is not working.

Previously, some of the emails from your domain was going in the spam folder, but I've whitelisted everything for the entire pelotonics.com domain.

I can type something in the box and choose to send it, but no members (including myself) get an email at all.

  2. An email should be going to the people that are assigned to that Task... Let me test right now.

  3. Hi Brian,

Here is a PeloCast that explains hoe the Request Update feature works on the "Tasks" tab.

    Thanks!

  4. Thanks for the screencast - it definitely was point for point the exact way I was doing it. I'm still not getting the emails though :(

We do anti-spam filtering through 1 company only, and that's Postini. I'm actually surprised they filtered you guys out, but I've got my settings on as aggressive as they get.

Still, I've checked there but still have no captured messages from your domain any longer since I whitelisted it earlier today.

I'll send you off a screencast in a few minutes unless I get interrupted here.

  5. Hi Brian, I understand why you're not getting the email now...

The "Request Update" functionality does not send an email to yourself. Since you were the only person that was assigned to the Task and you were requesting an update to that Task, the email didn’t get sent out. Now if there was more than one person assigned to that Task, say Brian and Daniel, and then you did the request update, only Daniel would get the email.

Maybe we need to be more clever on our end by hiding the "Request Update" link if the logged in user is the only person assigned to the Task.

  6. Haha, makes sense. That's why I did it with the other guy assigned to the account as well, but it makes sense that I wouldn't get it if I was the guy requesting the update. Seems redundant, I admit.

I simply made the assumption that because I wasn't getting an email, the other recipient on there wasn't getting it either. Now, of course I couldn't ask that guy because he was on vacation today and not monitoring his inbox :P

  7. this has been fixed... If you (the logged in user) are the only assigned person to the task, the Request Update link is hidden now.
