How do I assign a contact to a specific project?

    I was just looking a the FAQs, and it shows a "permissions" tab under Projects>Contacts.

    I don't have one on my layout, am I in the wrong layer or something.

    How do I assign contacts to specific teams and/or projects?

  2. You assign contacts to projects within the projects themselves. So, after you create a new project, go to that project's Contacts tab and you can add people to that project there.

    We organize people into companies so you would first add their company to the project and then add them to their company.

    You should see the "Permissions" link on that Project level contacts page. These permissions allow you to have your clients see everything or it gives you the ability to hid tabs like Milestones and Tasks from them if you want to just use those internally.

    I'm still not seeing the permissions link when I'm at that level. ??

    Also: OK, now I've done it. I deleted a user from my company so I could place her in her company. But, now it won't let me add her to her company because it says the email is in use.

    What should I do now?

  4. Hmmm. I will have Daniel fix that for you right away. You can try to add her back into your company if it will let you do that. Then you could edit her profile and on that edit screen, it gives you the ability to change her company.

    1. Create the new company.
    2. Edit her profile within your company. (if the system lets you do that! If not, we will fix that for you asap)
    3. Change her company affiliation and save her profile.

    She will then be in the other company.

  5. Daniel just figured it out.

    Just do this: Go to the global contacts tab from the Dashboard and edit her profile. On the edit page, you will see a drop down box that will let you change her company.

    Make sure that you create her company before you edit her profile!

  8. The Permissions Link is on the Project Level Contacts Tab. The link will only show up if you have a company other than yours in the Project because Permissions only apply to people in outside companies (companies other than yours).

  9. One more thing to note...

    A person (contact) is added to the system across your whole account. Though that person must also be "added" to the Project to have access to it (they can only see/access Projects they've been added to). So if you "Remove" a person from a Project, they're still in your system on the Global Contacts Tab on the Dashboard level.
